I was taught a foundational principle many years ago by an extremely wise biochemist/health practitioner. The question that I posed to him was, why do testosterone-enhancing herbs not work clinically as the advertisements claim? I was having issues with my testosterone after the birth of our fifth child and a subsequent must-needed vasectomy. He stated that he was taking the same herbs I was using, and his last testosterone level was in the mid 700’s at age 65. I was all ears and requested a pad to take down notes. This principle would not only work to restore hormone levels but also apply to any health challenge one is experiencing. Herbs and supplements are like icing on a cake, they can assist the body in healing, but you have to bake the cake first. You probably have never been to a party where just icing was served but no cake. WHAT IS THE CAKE/FOUNDATION? There are four requirements to restore the body to wellness, and they can only be accomplished through food or food-based supplements.
- You must provide the body with all its nutritional requirements through food, not caloric requirements but vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. A typical standard American meal will provide your daily caloric needs but be completely void of nutrients.
- When you provide the necessary food-based nutrients, the Ph of your cells will be 7.4. This is not an unsubstantiated claim. The evidence is proven by a simple Ph test a bit different than all the others touted by the internet health gurus. I will give a simple step-by-step explanation later in the article.
- You have to balance inflammation through food or, specifically, through fat. There is an abundance of pro-inflammatory omega six oils in the standard American diet and not enough anti-inflammatory omega 3’s. Once again, this must be done through food or a food-based omega-3 supplement. There is only one food-based omega 3 fish oil called “triglyceride form”, all the others are in an “ethyl ester” form. The triglyceride form fat molecule closely resembles the same molecule in the actual food, cold water fish. The ethyl ester form resembles a synthetic drug. Rule #1; only food can restore health. Nordic Naturals and Epax are the only fish oil companies producing the triglyceride form if you want to avoid eating the actual wild-caught fish.
- Modulate the immune system. ( Modulate-to regulate, adjust, or adapt to the proper degree) In layman’s terms, it means to lower an overactive immune system (autoimmune) or raise an underactive immune system (chronically getting viral/bacterial or fungal infections). Two superior foods have the capability to balance the immune system: medicinal mushrooms and aloe vera. Both contain polysaccharides that allow your immune cells to communicate efficiently throughout the body. Through clinical observations, we recommend the aloe for anyone with an autoimmune or gastrointestinal imbalance and the mushrooms for cancer and chronic infection challenges.
Juicing organic vegetables and supplementing with mushrooms and food-based omega 3’s is the best route for establishing the foundation. Juicing can be quite expensive and time-consuming. I have had a few clients who had serious health challenges and went this route with dramatic success. It requires an incredible amount of commitment. Most decide to follow the alternative (easier) supplement version listed below. In every case where there is a serious dedication to be faithful to the regimen, restoration of health follows. I beg the reader to avoid sugar, processed foods, refined grains, and vegetable oils. You cannot supplement your way out of a poor diet; health restoration is a balance of detox and restoration. This protocol provides the means to restore.
- 1 heaping teaspoon of Aim Barley Life powder or 7 capsules minimally once daily, of course, more is better. It’s only food and cannot cause harm in any way. The only people who should not consume the barley are those on the blood-thinning medication Coumadin due to the high vitamin K found in all green foods. The barley juice powder is nearly equivalent to juicing raw vegetables without the cost/hassle. The juice is technically alive with enzymes and provides all necessary nutrients in a food form. After consistent use, the Ph of the cells will find the perfect sweet spot of 7.4. To measure this, follow this simple protocol. Have nothing to eat or drink for 30 minutes. Take litmus paper and touch it on some saliva on the tongue. Write down the Ph. Squeeze a fresh lemon and drink 1 teaspoon of the fresh lemon juice. Wait 2 minutes and recheck the Ph on your tongue as before. If the Ph is the same, you are almost there. If the second Ph is higher than the first, your intracellular is 7.4. The theory is that the body does not want the mouth to be acidic. If enough alkaline mineral reserves exist in the tissue, the body will flood the oral cavity with the minerals to buffer the citric acid in the lemon juice. If there is a shortage of alkaline minerals, the Ph will go down on the second test as you are just measuring the citric acid. The body is hoarding the alkaline reserve for more important functions. An example would be a fire department sending all units to a house fire and waiting until that crisis is over before responding to additional non-life-threatening calls. Both are functions of the fire department, but they must be prioritized. Please see our video demonstrating the lemon Ph test.
- Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega- 2 capsules daily with any meal. This will allow the body to regulate inflammation at the cellular level. It is extremely wise to cut back or eliminate the pro-inflammatory omega-6 industrialized seed/vegetable oils. We recommend the Omega 3’s for anyone with an arthritic challenge and see positive changes in a few days. Remember that at the root of every major disease is chronic inflammation. No drug can address the cellular aspect of inflammation-only food. Nordic is truly a food-based omega-3 supplement.
- A Host Defense My Community-2 capsules once daily with or without food. I used this during the recent viral crisis while caring for those patients in the hospital. I have personally never caught a respiratory ailment while taking this supplement. This is assuming that one is also utilizing all the foundation aspects of this article. You cannot treat your body like a trash dump and expect a supplement to overcome it.
B Aloe Life Aloe Gold- 1 ounce 1 to 3 times daily. This is also an immune modulator that also supports an inflamed gastrointestinal tract. It is absolutely necessary if there is an autoimmune challenge. The root of most autoimmune challenges is a leaky gut.
Don’t hesitate to call us at 985-370-0751 for more detailed/personal support. We are a real store and not just a website selling supplements; it would be our pleasure to assist in your journey into health & wellness.

My dad has prostate cancer and has been taking chemo for a month or so. My girlfriend has chronic allergies and probably immune deficiency. We have been looking into other things. I read Camerons protocol, and yes it does seem over wellming.

Cameron’s protocol was for prolonged chemotherapy. The base protocol would be the barley, turkey tail mushrooms and omega 3 from Nordic.
For your dad I would also recommend the Essiac-20 tincture. I have also read that prostate cancer responds well to fresh ginger.
For your girlfriend: barley, my community mushrooms and the omega 3. You have to drop sugar intake to less than 24 grams/6 teaspoons daily and remove all vegetable oils from the diet.

What would you recommend for arthritis please

Hello Lorraine, thanks for your inquiry. I would recommend to start taking Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega Fish Oil: 2 caps daily with any meal or the liquid version which must be refrigerated after opened at 5ml daily with food. This food based Omega 3 will naturally assist with regulating inflammation at the cellular level throughout the body. Think of it as cake; the icing on the cake would be Curamed by Terry Naturally. It is the most clinically studied Turmeric/Curcumin which has been proven to lower inflammation. I would recommend taking minimally 750mg/day, either once at that dose or 375mg twice daily. You should start to experience results in about 1 week. There are multiple other options to try, but this combination works for most people. There are no known side effects and every cell in the body will receive benefits. These products are available on our website store or you can call us at 985-370-0751. God Bless You!

Hi this is mainly about my son. Brad is 26 years old and he’s been diagnosed with high blood pressure. Brad is taking 2 different medications for this. He has already taken steps in no soda, packaged food, or frying. He’s been working out, and taking B12, fish oil, and probiotics. With your knowledge and research would you recommend anything else or recommend what we shouldn’t be taking? Thank you for any advice.

Rachel, please accept my apology for the delay in response. I would love to know if Brad has had a recent cholesterol (lipid) panel done. There is a simple calculation to determine if insulin resistance is the primary driver of the hypertension. Simply divide Triglycerides by HDL, say triglycerides are 120 and HDL is 60 (120/60=2). If the result is greater than 1.5, there is primary insulin resistance. By eliminating sugar to under 9 teaspoons a day for men and under 6 teaspoons for women. This will drop the above numbers over time and you should see a correlation to better blood pressure readings. The only other recommendation would be to start taking Magnesium Glycinate 200-400 mg daily at bedtime. Magnesium is directly related to smooth muscle relaxation which will relax the arteries thus lowering BP. Other recommendations would be to take some Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I recommend Kalamata Reserve which can be found at Happyolive4.com, they are a small store like us in Fairhope Alabama. Last is to take a teaspoon of Black Seed Oil daily. Hope this helps. Thanks again.

Hi, can you recommend anything for prostate inflammation? Keeping a healthy pancreas? And stomach issues like ibs, excessive belching, bloating and anxiety? Thank you in advance
Dennis Lagarde
March 8, 2023 at 9:39 pm
Hello Jacqueline, sorry for the delay in responding. ALL of the health challenges would benefit from taking the Aim Barley Life which will provide food based nutrients, gently detox and alkalize the body. Nordic Naturals Omega 3’s will assist the body to regulate inflammation, especially the prostate. Aloe Life Whole Leaf Aloe Vera will modulate the immune system and directly have a stabilizing effect on all of the digestive organs(stomach, pancreas, small and large intestine, liver, etc.). These 3 core products provide the nutritional foundation to all the cells in the body. Of equal importance is to avoid the foods causing the issues: sugar, vegetable oils and processed grains.
Now for your specific questions-Prostatitis: Avoid caffeine and the chemical BPA. BPA is found in plastic water bottles, thermal receipt paper and microwaving foods in plastic containers. I would also recommend eating a handful or two of raw pumpkin seeds daily and take the herb nettle root. Keep the pancreas healthy by the initial food recommendations and add some unfiltered extra virgin olive oil to your diet. You can take the EVOO like medicine 1-3 tablespoons daily. I recommend the Partanna brand which is sold at most Walmart’s. It is a good oil with a decent dose of polyphenols which is the medicine part of the oil. GI issues, I would suggest a yeast and parasite cleanse. Call the store for different options as there are many and must be followed with a good probiotic. Last for anxiety, start taking Magnesium Glycinate 200-400 mg at bedtime. We sell one online by Bluebonnet called “Chelated Magnesium”. Hope this helps.

I’m 37 and live a pretty healthy lifestyle. No sugar/refined foods, etc. I’m not sure if I need to be taking supplements or if I do, where to start? Any recommendations? Thanks.
Dennis Lagarde
March 6, 2023 at 8:32 pm
Hello Sarah, thanks for your question. In light of your current diet and lifestyle, I would only recommend supplementing with a high bioavailable Magnesium. It is almost impossible to get enough magnesium through the diet alone. We recommend Bluebonnet’s Chelated Magnesium 200mg at bedtime. I would also investigate to see if you are getting some Omega 3’s in your diet. If not, then a high quality fish oil would be beneficial. We recommend the Nordic Naturals brand as it is the only Triglyceride form on the market. This more closely resembles the actual molecule in the fish. If you do decide on taking a fish oil, take it with any meal to increase absorption. Please call us if you have any further questions.

I have gluten issues. Does the barley grass supplement contain gluten?
Dennis Lagarde
March 18, 2023 at 6:35 pm
The barley supplement is actually a grass juice powder. The grass is juiced from the tender young young shoots and not the mature grain. The young grass shoots, thus the juice is gluten free. The barley juice powder will actually help restore the gut to a healthier state.

I seen your advice on leaky gut. I don’t think I have that, but I could have. I know I have at one time diverticulitis. I try to get lots of vegetables in my diet and I also do intermittent fasting. It looks like the protocol is to take vitamins with food, which I try to stay around a three hour window. Could you tell me how to go about taking the required vitamins in a three hour window? Would that still work? I’m also starting to get a little bit of arthritis, so if anything you can think of would help on, that would be great. I am turning 71 in a few days. I don’t know if that will help or not to guide me in the right direction. Thank you for all your advice and help Jen
Dennis Lagarde
March 21, 2023 at 8:28 am
Hi Jen, thanks for reaching out. The leaky gut protocol in my opinion should be done by anyone who has taken antibiotics in the past. At least a round of the oregano, aloe and Up4 probiotics. If you don’t think you have leaky gut then the restore part of the protocol is not necessary. It would be one bottle of each, the worse that can happen is that you reboot your gut to a healthier state. You cannot heal diverticulosis as that is a permanent challenge. The goal is not to inflame the diverticuli causing diverticulitis. The protocol does not actually require to be taken with or without food. It can be catered either way. For the arthritis, I recommend to start taking the Nordic Naturals Omega 3 as this will help modulate inflammation at the celluar level. Next I would start taking the Natures Plus Collagen peptides which will help assist the joints from a mechanical standpoint. These supplements will not only help the joints but also every part of the body. Feel free to call for detailed explanation on how/why to take each supplement. (985)370-0751

Would you recommend any protocol to help function with type 1 diabetes. Wasn’t sure if autoimmune would be suitable
My 15 yo son was diagnosed at 13. We are of course in the teenage years so nutrition is not in the front of his mind but does eat lower carb when i feed him lol.
Just want protocol to help in the background.

March 26, 2023 at 11:32 am
Hello Mary, thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the autoimmune protocol will not help with Type I diabetes. I understand your battle with nutrition during the teenage years. The barley would be a great benefit to help augment nutritional needs for the body; since it is an actual food it will feed the cells rather than becoming expensive urine. I would also highly recommend the Nordic Naturals fish oil to help maintain cell membrane integrity. The fish oil will also help regulate triglyceride levels which tend to run high with diabetes. With a great Mom like you championing your son, He can live a completely normal and healthy life.

Jodi, I wish I had a concrete answer to the parathyroid issue. It’s just not one that I have any direct experience with. The only thought that possibly could help would be a combination of the Essiac-20 detox tincture and utilizing systemic enzymes to possibly address the thyroid nodules. The Essiac would open all the detoxification pathways and the enzymes would possibly begin to shrink the nodules. All of your above-mentioned symptoms are related to the parathyroid issues. Call the store if you would like to discuss further. At least, the enzymes and detox would cause no harm in any way. We have also used a Frankincense extract to address cyst and tumors in the past.

Hello Kristi,
First for the Hashimoto’s disease, please see my autoimmune article for our recommended protocol to hopefully remediate this challenge. The hypothesis is that the root cause is leaky gut/dysbiosis. This protocol should reset the gut and thus help with the Hashimoto’s.
For the fibrocystic disease my recommendation is to take 20,000 units of the enzyme serrapeptase and 2,000-6,000 units of Nattokinase. Both of these has to be on an empty stomach. Last would be to rub frankincense oil w/carrier oil over the area and take an oral frankincense called Bos-Med. Call the store for more information. 985-370-0751

Good afternoon!
I recently discovered you & am so thankful for you and the info you share! I have several questions for you, please…
1st. I am interested in beginning several of your recommendations, specifically the “Old Folks Arthritis remedy” and daily black seed, EVOO, honey, & barley grass. I intermittently fast with an eating window from 12 pm – 8 pm. When should I take everything?
2nd. What are your thoughts about AG1?
3rd. What are your thoughts about Ozempic? Any suggestions for something similar that “stops the food noise”?
Thank you & God Bless you,
LJ

LJ, please forgive my delayed response. I am grateful for you taking time to watch the videos and asking questions. for timing based on your intermittent fasting routine. The barley or AG1 if you haver that can be taken in the morning and should not break your fast. The EVOO will help balance the microbiome if taken on an empty stomach. The polyphenol benefits will occur with or without food. Maybe take the EVOO 15 minutes before your first meal. Take the black seed oil/honey as the last “food” of the day. There is a great sleep benefit if the BSO is taken later in the day. I think the AG1 is a good supplement; I just have not experienced it personally. I guess I should try it out in the store to evaluate a local review. Last we absolutely have an Ozyempic alternative. There are 2 options. Please call the store at 985-370-0751 any weekday morning and speak to my sister Rachael. She will forward the recommendations to you and explain further.
Thanks again for your question.

Hello, I’m a 46 male and I have hypertension and high cholesterol. Triglycerides are 142, HDL is 66 and my LDL is 167. History of heart disease in my family. What would be the best protocol for me to lower my blood pressure, cholesterol and help me prevent heart disease?

April 21, 2024 at 10:35 am
Hello Jason, I am so sorry for the late reply. We have been involved in renovating our old warehouse and moving the store into that space.
Your primary challenge based on your labs appears to indicate that you have insulin resistance. A back door way to determine insulin resistance besides a fasting insulin level is the triglyceride/HDL ratio. Your ratio is 142/66=2.15. results>1.5 are usually significant for your bodies inability to manage sugar. First I would ask you to watch the 2 videos under the education tab on this website. They will explain the 2 foods causing the problem. Next call the store on recommendations to restore your health as there are a few options.
985-370-0751 I promise this is an easy challenge to remediate.
