Conditions: Bedwetting, Bladder (irritable), Bladder (ulcerated), Bladder Infection, Bleeding (external), Cuts, Cystitis, Diabetes, Edema, Gonorrhea, Gout, Incontinence, Kidney Infections, Kidney Stones, Pancreatitis, Poison Ivy or Oak, Prolapsed Colon, Prolapsed Uterus, Prostatitis, Urethritis, Urinary Tract Infections, Urination (burning or painful), Urinaton (frequent), and Urine (scant).

– Uva Ursi is a reliable diuretic with strong disinfectant and infection-fighting properties, making it useful for kidney and bladder infections, irritated female organs, and other urogenital problems. It works well with unsweetened cranberry juice and contains a substance that disinfects the urinary tract. Take 1-2 capsules one to two times daily between meals with a large glass of water, or 1 cup of tea each day. It works better as a tea than as a capsule. Use 2-3 Capsules per cup. Add peppermint or chamomile to improve taste.

WARNINGS: Not for use in cases involving fluid deficiency, wasting, or dryness. Not recommended for long-term use because of strong astringency. Prolonged use may irritate the stomach and cause constipation. Since animal studies show that Uva Ursi stimulates the uterus to contract, pregnant women may wish to avoid it, although we don’t believe it would do any harm in low doses in case of bladder infection. The herb contains large amounts of tannins, which could cause stomach upset in large quantities. As a result, Uva Ursi should not be given to children under the age of two. Begin with smaller amounts and increase if necessary. You may notice that the herb often turns urine a dark green. Do not become alarmed; this is normal.
