Wild Oregano (Origanum vulgare) has a history of medical use that dates back to Ancient Greece. It was used extensively, both internally and externally, as medicine. Wild Oregano has a unique (also found in Thyme and Marjoram) essential oil content called phenolic compounds that have anti-microbial activity. Oregano Oil is the most powerful natural antimicrobial compound for acute use. It is also safe. Oregano Oil works like tea tree oi, goldenseal and grapefruit seed extract all in one. Consider it as an antibacterial herbal medicine that will kill the microbes on contact. It is not a booster like Echinacea, but a killer for acute inundation and protection when traveling or if vulnerable to microbial breakdown.
