INDICATIONS:

Skullcap is helpful for anxiety, stress, irritability, restlessness, insomnia and pain. It is an excellent nerve tonic that helps decrease the frequency in which nerves send pain signals to the pain. The main active ingredients of skullcap are believed to be the flavonoids baicalin and baicalein. The herb also contains certain amino acids such as glutamine and GABA, which may also contribute to its sedative and anxiolytic effects.

A study was performed on 19 healthy volunteers to determine the effectiveness of Skullcap in reducing anxiety. The results verified that Skullcap did significantly reduce anxiety in comparison to placebo. Higher dosages produced more significant degrees of sedation.
