Clove essential oil is an excellent antiseptic because of its high eugenol content. It is useful in the prevention of viral diseases. It is an anti-parasitic, helps to stimulate digestion, restores appetite and relieves flatulence. It has a mild anesthetic effect and is commonly used for toothaches. It triggers the release of anti-inflammatory processes. Clove is beneficial for rheumatoid arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions. Topically it can be used for leg ulcers. Emotionally it lifts depression and is useful when feeling weak and lethargic. It has a positive, stimulating effect on the mind. Clove oil applied topically has a numbing effect on he nerves. It is used by dentists to numb the gums prior to giving shots. It has been mixed with olive oil (1 part clove to 100 parts olive oil) and applied to the gums for toothache. Although traditionally used for teething infants, its’ belter to use chamomile, as clove can be too irritating. You can also mix clove carrier oil and apply topically over the abdominal area to help make a parasite cleanse more effective.

Can be irritating in large quantities. Must be highly diluted (1% or less) for topical application. Clove oil should not be used internally except by trained professionals.
